![]() ![]() I know this isn't normal - straining until he's red in the face all day and sometimes screaming bloody murder isn't normal (especially at this age). It's killing me seeing my baby miserable for 80% of every day and it's making me so depressed I don't know what to do anymore. ![]() Yes we have tried probiotics, hypoallergenic formula and every other suggestion. I'm honestly at my wits end, I have no idea what else I can even try. I don't even know if the dr would test him since he's gaining weight fine and no bloody stools. This fussiness is also much different than how he acts when teething so it's also definitely not that. Is an allergy possible? I doubted it because otherwise how could he have done so well for 3 weeks before this happened? We stopped solids for a week once he stopped acting like this and nothing changed so we know it's not that. Then after 3 great weeks, the grunting/acting like he's in pain all the time has started again, even though his poops are still soft and frequent so it can't be constipation. he was finally smiling and laughing again, not arching his back, no grunting, soft poops. Within a day or two we noticed a drastic change. Out of desperation I switched him to goats milk formula as I'd heard it's gentler on their tummies. Tried for a month and every day he got worse, writhing in pain, kicking and grunting, hard stools (but no blood or mucus in stools that I can tell). Then around 4.5 months I couldn't get my hands on Kendamil anymore so switched him again. We switched to kendamil and he started doing a lot better. ![]() By horribly I mean grunting and crying/screaming, straining on and off ALL day, not just while pooping. My baby is now almost 7 months and doesn't have the typical serious signs of a milk allergy but I'm not sure what else could be the cause of all his extreme fussiness.Īs a newborn he did horribly on all formulas we tried (even for many weeks), we tried Nutramigen for awhile, no change. ![]()
